ACORN | KENT WOODLANDS
An inspired house
Summit and the clients collaborated to create a house that explored the ideas and spirit of the Bay First Tradition, the earliest School of Arts and Crafts architecture in San Francisco area. The design process was inspired by the work of Greene and Greene, Ernest Coxhead and writings of Charles Keeler, a contemporary of Bernard Maybeck.
The finished house embodies a gentle coexistence with a delicate site and its several riparian zones and a magnificent, heritage California live oak tree. The house was designed by Holder Design Associates in collaboration with Crome Architecture.
