BOLINAS | ROSS
This narrow yet deep lot came with strict design-review guidelines that permitted only single-story construction for this ground-up project. Architect Holder Design met the challenge by placing the four bedrooms at the front but bypassing them with a formal glass-bridge entryway and organizing the house into two gable-roofed “pavilions”—one public, the other private. The adjacent living space and kitchen are open and light with large trusses and doors leading out to three different deck areas. The home was completed in 2015.
